In order to enroll in the Master's Degree Course in Data Science, Scientific Computing & Artificial Intelligence, it is necessary to request the nulla osta, a mandatory document that certifies possession of the access requirements and which must be requested according to the methods specified on the Access to Master's Degrees page of the Scuola di Scienze, Matematiche, Fisiche e Naturali; see also the Second Cycle Degrees (LM) page. In particular, it is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree or a three-year university diploma, or another qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable. It is also necessary to pass an assessment of the adequacy of personal preparation.
CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS
To be admitted to the Master's Degree Course it is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree in the following classes (italian ex D.M. 270/04):
or, alternatively, possess a bachelor’s degree in another class having obtained at least 30 credits in the following areas: INF/01 (Computer Science), ING-INF/05 (Computer Engineering), MAT/01-09 (Mathematics), SECS-S/01-02,06 (Statistics), BIO/ 01-19 (Biology), CHIM/01-03,06,07,12 (Chemistry), FIS/01-05 (Physics), GEO/01-12 (Geology), of which at least 18 in the areas INF/01, ING-INF/05, MAT/01-09.
PERSONAL PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS
It is required to have achieved a final score in the bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) equal to or greater than 75% of the maximum score. Furthermore, it is necessary to possess a certification of knowledge of the English language at European level B2 (or higher), or to reside in a country where English is the official language, or to have previously completed a first level bachelor's degree course ( or equivalent) taught entirely in English.
The possession of the requirements for admission is assessed by a special Commission which evaluates the curricular background and personal training of the candidate, on the basis of the exams taken to obtain the previous bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) and through the verification of the personal training background. The Commission may also make use of an individual interview with individual applicants, in order to ascertain possession of the knowledge and skills essential for accessing the study programme.
